Jamieson Cares
Animal Protection
In Support of Animals
Jamieson Laboratories was among the first North American business leaders to champion the cause of animal protection. Our commitment has been demonstrated in two significant ways:

• since its founding in 1922, Jamieson has never used animals for testing during product development, and

• has vigorously supported several frontline animal welfare organizations with local, national and international influence.

Every species has an inherent value and should enjoy intrinsic rights, distinct from the needs and wishes of humankind. The world’s wildlife, for example, plays an integral role in the planet’s biodiversity. Our chosen companion pets live in our households as family. It is our duty to protect these animals from pain, fear, stress and deprivation — and it is this responsibility that guides Jamieson’s relationships with business partners and suppliers, whose practices we stipulate must likewise be compassionate towards other species.

Our own research, development and quality-control laboratories are the most advanced and sophisticated in the vitamin industry. By combining state-of-the-art quality assurance with the body of well-established data on the safety and efficacy of ingredients, Jamieson consistently meets and surpasses Health Canada licensing regulations. On occasion, a new formulation of familiar ingredients will be the subject of a human clinical trial. Whenever novel raw materials are added to our inventory, we exercise due diligence with our suppliers to ensure that animals have not been harmed during development.

Throughout its history, Jamieson Laboratories has proven that it is possible to bring safe, effective and innovative premium products to market without subjecting animals to laboratory testing.

No animal should be gratuitously exploited for entertainment or profit. Jamieson has held a long-standing philosophical opposition to factory farming in which intense, industrial-level practices are used to increase profit and reduce costs, all at the expense of animal welfare.

As the stewards and guardians of animal life, it is our duty to treat animals with compassion and respect.
